The University of North Texas invites you to participate in the 16th Annual Mean Green Fling! Mean Green Fling is the event that kicks off the start of the school year! This back-to-school event will take place on Thursday, August 21, 2014, at The Hill at Apogee (near Victory Hall and Apogee Stadium) from 5:30PM-7:30PM. More than 36,000 students are invited to attend Mean Green Fling, which will take place immediately following New Student Convocation. In addition, more than 350 student organizations will be invited to participate, along with university departments.
For the past two years, attendance has reached over 8,200 students, parents, faculty, and staff! This welcome-back event will feature free food, giveaways, live entertainment, and other activities, making it a highly attractive event for students.
PARKING AND DIRECTIONS
Sponsors and Guest will be able to park in Lots 80 and 81 for the duration of Mean Green Fling. These parking lots are located next to Victory Hall. Parking is limited, other options for parking include, parking lots on Bonnie Brae (dirt lot), the D Parking lot at the Athletic Center and G parking lots at Mean Green Village and Fouts Field. Be conscious of where you park your vehicle since parking is strictly enforced. Check the UNT Transportation website (http://www.unt.edu/transit/maps.html) for more information on and follow the rules accordingly.
The event will be taking place in the Reserved Game Day parking lot right behind Victory Hall. In order to get you near the site, please use the Victory Hall address provided below.

SIGN UP FOR MEAN GREEN FLING HAS CLOSED. ALL ORGANIZATIONS AND DEPARTMENTS CAN EMAIL STUDENT.ACTIVITIES@UNT.EDU, WITH ORGANIZATION NAME, CONTACT NAME AND CONTACT EMAIL ADDRESS TO BE PUT ON OUR WAITLIST BY AUGUST 19TH AT 5PM.
STUDENT ORG CHECK-IN
The location for student organization check in will be in between lot 80 and 81, look for a UNT tent with RED balloons. Check-In will begin at 4:15pm (please see above map for location). We would like for you to be set up by 5:00pm as the event will begin at 5:30pm. It is important that you check in by 5:00pm. At 5:15pm, if your organization has not checked in, you will forfeit your table and it will be released to another organization.
Waitlisted organizations may receive a table if it is made available the day of the event. We cannot guarantee you a table at the event, but we highly recommend your organization comes out to the event and check with the Check In Tent look for RED balloons. Waitlist organizations can begin checking in at 5:15PM.
UNT DEPARTMENT CHECK-IN
The location for department check in will be in between lot 80 and 81, look for a UNT tent with red balloons. Check-In will begin at 4:30pm (please see above map for location). We would like for you to be set up by 5:00pm as the event will begin at 5:30pm.
Please check in at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time. Once you check-in, you will receive further instructions on your tasks. You must check out after your shift to receive your MGF tank!

What is Mean Green Fling?
Mean Green Fling is the event that kicks off the start of the school year at UNT! It is an opportunity for student organizations, campus departments and local vendors to showcase what they have to offer to new and returning students.
Why should our business sponsor Mean Green Fling?
For the past three years, Mean Green Fling attendance reached about 8,000 students, parents, faculty, and staff! In 2013, attendanced reached over 8,500 people! It is the largest event that UNT hosts annually, and is one of the best opportunities to showcase your business to the UNT community, on the UNT campus.
How can my business participate?
There are a number of different sponsorship levels in which you can be involved in becoming a sponsor of Mean Green Fling. Please see the sponsorship information to decide at which level you would like to sponsor Mean Green Fling. In order to participate, vendors must sign up and pay by July 9, 2014.
Can my business do an in-kind donation?
If you have other ways in which you would like to contribute, aside from those listed in the materials, please let us know. Partnership is limited only by imagination! Yes, we accept in-kind donations on a case by case basis. If this is something that you are interested in doing, please contact us at email@example.com. In-kind donations, as approved by Student Activities, must be delivered by August 8th.
How can I pay?
We will accept cash, check, money order, or credit card. Please make checks and money orders to "UNT Student Activities."
Payment made by check, cash, or money order may be (1) hand-delivered to the Student Activities Center in Union 320, or (2) mailed to: UNT Student Activities, 1155 Union Circle #305069, Denton, TX 76203-5017. Credit card payments may be done via the registration form or over the phone by contacting Claire at 940-565-3807. NOTE: In order to complete registration, payment should be postmarked by or hand-delivered by July 9. Payment not received by the deadline may prevent the vendor in participation in Mean Green Fling.
